Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko is expected to appear in court after he stood as a surety to a Mombasa Republican Council group leader, Omar Hamisi Mwamnuadzi to be released on bond.
Sonko rescued Hamisi from Shimo la Tewa Prison after he has spent 2 months in prison for failing to get the bond of Sh10 million to get his freedom.
The senator stood as surety but Hamisi has been skipping court proceedings since then claiming to be sick.
Earlier this month, Sonko was ordered to appear in court to explain why Hamisi has been missing to appear in court in Mombasa for the hearing of his case where he has been accused of possessing a firearm.
