ODM leader Raila Odinga did not spare Nairobi’s Jubilee governorship Mike Sonko as he sort to assert his authority in the cosmopolitan city on Tuesday.

The populist governor is among the favourite to dethrone Odinga’s ally Evans Kidero who is seeking reelection.

And in a move aimed at stamping his authority in city politics which he has participated since the introduction of pluralism, Odinga urged his supporters to vote only NASA candidates.

“I am a veteran in city politics and I want to ensure NASA wins all the seats available. Presidential elections are won in Nairobi.

“Do not elect that goon [Sonko] as your governor because it’s equal to messing up Nairobi. Ensure our candidates win for our own good. He is unfit to govern this city,” added Odinga.

Also endorsed were Women Representative aspirant Esther Passaris, lawyer Edwin Sifuna for senate and all aspiring MPs and MCAs.

In 2013, Odinga’s Cord lost parliamentary majority to Jubilee even after winning majority of MCAs, governorship. He also lost Women Representative post to defunct TNA.
