A senator has claimed Nairobi governor Mike Sonko may not transform Nairobi to the standards it should be.
Isaac Mwaura (Jubilee, Nominated) said Sonko's works are full of drama and public relations, two characteristics that are not helpful to the ordinary Nairobi resident.
He made the remarks when he spoke on Radio Jambo on Saturday morning during a political talk show.
"Somebody like Mike Sonko just makes noise, we are yet to see what he has so far done to help the residents of Nairobi," Mwaura said.
"He came into office with all the pomp, but can he convince us that he is the leader that Nairobi wanted? I doubt."
Mwaura, a former ODM nominated MP representing people living with disabilities said Nairobi needs a serious leader who understands the need of city dwellers and the current county chief is not such a person.
Sonko is serving his first term in office after defeating Dr Evans Kidero during the August 8 general election.
He moved city voters to vote for him as he rode on the platform of fighting corruption which he alleged had spread roots in the city-county government.
He has been busy touring development projects especially road construction projects within Nairobi.
