Nairobi senator Mike Sonko and Governor Evans Kidero on Monday united with other Kenyans in the now dominant outcry over high costs of living.
Speaking at Uhuru Park where Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli convened with workers to mark the day, Sonko urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to swiftly move in and address the issue of unga prices which he said cannot be afforded by Kenyans now.
“Mr President, the price of unga is now too high that these people gathered here can no longer afford it, please address this issue,” Sonko said after he was invited by Kidero to speak.
In his turn, the governor also avoided politics and resounded Sonko's message to the president.
“Life has become unmanageable for most ordinary Kenyans, the price of unga is so high that most workers spend half of their income to buy food,” Kidero said.
This was a rare show from the duo who have been known to trade political wars at public functions.
