Governor Mike Sonko lost his biological mother at a tender age.

Susan has been present in Sonko's political journey always offering moral and spiritual guidance.

In 2013, Sonko paraded her to the public after clinching the senatorial contest by a wide margin.

''She represents my mother,'' Sonko said when he stood to address the audience in the auditorium.

Susan Wanjiku has been seen on several occasions with the governor, praying for his 'son'.'

''We tried our best throughout your illness to save your life but seems God loved you more than us. 

Rest in peace shushu witu SUSAN KAMAU WANJIKU.'' Sonko wrote on social media.

Susan Kamau was involved in an accident that saw her in and out of hospital with Sonko footing all the bills.
