Flamboyant Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has narrated how he caught employees with money hidden in their underwears and socks when he assumed the reigns of power at City Hall.
''When it comes to service delivery, people should look at the work that I have done since I came to power. On the first day, I recovered 7 million shillings, money that belongs to the public that someone had hidden in the underwear, another one in the jacket, another one in the jacket. So the idea that we have not worked is wrong. We have really worked,'' Governor Sonko said.
Sonko was speaking today to a mainstream television station in his office flanked by his cabinet.
His words come in the context of growing uncertainty over the dramatic resignation of his deputy, Polycarp Igathe.
