President Uhuru Kenyatta has indicated that he would not want to interfere with the Jubilee Party nominations.

Citing the ongoing wrangles between Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant senator Mike Sonko and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Uhuru said, anyone has the right to vie through any political party.

The two are interested to unseat incumbent Dr Evans Kidero, through a Jubilee party ticket.

Sonko warned that he would not agree to step down for Kenneth, and all would not go well, if the former 2013 presidential aspirant is given ticket to vie through Jubilee.

According to Sonko, Kenneth betrayed Uhuru in 2013, when he opposed his bid to State House, and did not deserve warm reception in Jubilee.

However, Uhuru said he does not influence his party's nominations, and would never try such.

"I have no favourite candidate for any post. Any aspirant is free to vie for any post, through the party they wish. They will all go through nominations and the people will elect who they think, should be given the ticket to vie,'' Uhuru said.

Speaking during Citizen Nipashe interview, the Jubilee party leader emphasised no one should use his name to seek nomination.

The party whose deputy leader is Deputy president William Ruto, will conduct its nominations in April.
