Sonko alleges that the man he identified as John Ochonga Monyoncho has been issuing fake bar licences to city entertainment joint owners and pocketing the money.

He said Ochonga, after revelations emerged of his dubious deals, went into hiding but law enforcers managed to arrest him.

He was arraigned in court on Thursday.

"John Ochonga Monyoncho is a staff of Nairobi City County who has been swindling millions of shillings from bar owners by issuing them with fake county liquor licences," Sonko said on his official Facebook page after publishing Ochonga's picture taken in court.

"When his colleagues were arrested and arraigned in court two weeks ago, he absconded and went into hiding. Today (Thursday) he was charged in court. If you are a victim please report to Nairobi City County investigations department."

Sonko, from the time he took over the management of Nairobi county has been hard on alleged corrupt employees.

He says he is on a mission to streamlining operations at the county that hosts Kenya's capital Nairobi.

The former Makarada MP has consistently accused his predecessor Dr Evans Kidero of abating corruption in the city. He alleges many Nairobi City County employees became millionaires through graft when Kidero was governor.
