Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has cleared the hospital bill for a Migori woman who lost four children in a lorry crash.
The accident occurred after the lorry rammed into her house in Migori, killing the four children on the spot.
Ms Margaret Mugusu had earlier been detained at Akidiva Hospital for failing to raise the Sh30,000 medical bill.
She was admitted after suffering shock last week when she learned of the death of her children.
"I would like to thank Governor Sonko for his kindness. He has sent me 35,000 to help clear the bill. May God bless him abundantly," Ms Mugusu said after being discharged from hospital.
On his part, the governor pledged to provide four coffins for her deceased children and clear the mortuary bill together with providing four hearse vehicles for the funeral.
“I felt really sad when I heard of the unfortunate news of the demise of the four children. I have pledged to give Sh100, 000 for funeral expenses and provide hearse to carry the bodies,” said the governor.
