I will give Harambee Stars players Sh2 million if they win the Cecafa Cup, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said.
Sonko, who watched Stars play Zanzibar to a 0-0 draw challenged the national team to make Kenyans proud by winning the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
In a post-match match interview, Sonko pledged a Sh2 million cash reward to the Stars should they bag the regional title they last won in 2013.
“I’m a fan of this team and I strongly believe we can go far, not only in this competition. I came to support them and I have displayed good football, although we did not score. We will sit with my brother Governor Mutua and see what we can do for them. Let them just win it; probably he’ll give me a million and I do the same,” he said.
