Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has pledged to award Kenya's Harambee Stars if they win the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup being held in Kenya.

Sonko, who was in Machakos to cheer the team when they drew 0-0 against Zanzibar, said he would deliver a Sh2 million prize to the boys if they delivered on the pitch.

He said he would do so in conjunction with his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua.

"Harambee stars draw 0-0 with Zanzibar in the on going CECAFA tournament preliminaries. However in case the our team clinches the trophy they will bag 2,000,000/= courtesy of myself and Governor Mutua," he said.

With 5 points, Kenya sits second place in Group A that is headed by the islanders from Zanzibar with 7 points.
