Nairobi senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has outlined his conditions for working with Jubilee city gubernatorial aspirants Rev. Margaret Wanjiru and 2013 presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.
The outspoken senator said despite the agreement they had with Wanjiru, he will have to adhere to some conditions before picking her as a deputy.
Speaking during a live interview, Sonko pointed out those that need to be consulted before deciding how he will campaign then run Nairobi after the August win.
“There was an agreement between me and my beloved sister Margaret Wanjiru. She decided to battle me but I beat her. However, I will have to consult with my party leader, voters and other stakeholders,” Sonko.
Sonko also said he is ready to work with Peter Kenneth. This has surprised many after the senator called PK a chewing gum guy. He even vowed over the graves of his parents never to work with the former legislature. During a former interview, the Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful termed Kenneth as a corrupt leader who was not fit to serve in a public office.
The Deputy President William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to have a hand in the choice of Sonko’s deputy. It is yet to be known if it will be PK, Wanjiru or a new face.
