Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has come to the rescue of a white woman who was reportedly facing eviction threats from a group of individuals.

According to reports, the elderly woman was being harassed by a land-grabbing cartel that wanted to get money from her or evict the woman from the Karen residence she has stayed in for decades.

In a Facebook post, the governor posted photos of the granny whom she said was born and bred in Kenya.

"Kenyan Constitution allows every Kenyan Citizen to own property and that must be respected. It is however shocking that today, a Kenyan-born granny Anita Gazias was brought to my office by her neighbour after some unknown and suspicious looking guys stormed her Karen family house in which she has been living in for the last 40 years and threatened her with forceful eviction," he posted.

"The goons threatened, intimidated and warned her to vacate the house within the shortest time possible to pave way for the sale of the house. They further threatened to take her to a nyumba ya wazee. I immediately dispatched a team to the house and put up a sign board at the gate warning members of the public and unsuspecting prospective would be buyers that the the house is NOT for sale," he added.

The governor further said he has laid a trap to arrest the said goons and hand them to the forces of justice.
