The Kamba community will back President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto during the forthcoming August General Election.
According to Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, the community will support Jubilee re-election because it has benefited from development projects initiated by the government.
Speaking to the Star on Thursday, the flamboyant Senator said members of the Kamba community are loyal and not 'watermelons' as alleged.
"The perception that Kambas are watermelons is fake. We assure Jubilee of our support in the coming election," said Sonko. While condemning the recent heckling incidents of DP Ruto in Narok and Bomet, the Senator cautioned the youths against being used by politicians for their selfish interests.
"Youths should shun violence during the campaign period. Be polite and peaceful. It doesn't add up when you fight and get injured," he said.
Sonko, who is also eyeing Nairobi governor seat, said it was wrong for rowdy groups to disrupt meetings by leaders.
"There is no region in this country that belongs to somebody. Everybody is free to campaign in any region he wants," he said.
