Nairobi senator Mike Sonko has come clear on the source of his wealth. 

After speculations linking him to illicit activities including the sale of drugs, Sonko said he is a servant of the people and that it is God who gives him his money. 

Sonko said that as a good leader, it is God who has kept blessing him with riches. 

"My money comes from God. I am blessed. I have been serving the great people of Nairobi" he said. 

He was speaking Unverified sources have always linked the senator's wealth to a scandalous past. 

Sonko has been accused of selling drugs and poaching animals for ivory trade, allegations he dismissed as part of a wider political tool to assassinate his character.
