Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is a man happy with the progress his county has made in terms of road construction and maintenance.
speaking through his Facebook page on Monday, the governor said he had taken road construction works to areas previously neglected by the former Nairobi administrations as he understood the advantages roads posed to the growth of the city.
"On-going road construction in Dandora. Good roads make a crucial contribution to economic development, growth and in bringing important social benefits. They are of vital importance in order to make a nation grow and develop," he said.
"In addition to this, providing access to employment, social health and educational services makes a road network crucial in fighting against poverty. Nairobi City County Government is working with all relevant bodies to rehabilitate all feeder roads," he added.
Sonko vowed to work closely with his cabinet to ensure the agenda on roads is delivered.
"Today, my office led by CECM - Roads, Infrastructure and Transport, Mr Mohammed Dagane, carried out a physical inspection tour at Dandora which is under rehabilitation and will be of great benefit to the residents."
