Nairobi County governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, fired a series of devastating salvos at those he claimed want him six feet under by hook or by crook.
Addressing a congregation of the faithful at a church in Njiru, Nairobi, the governor said that those wishing him death would die before him and told them that only God alone could take his life and not a human being.
''I want them to know that they will also die. They are corpses in waiting. Only God alone can take a man's life and not a human being. They will die before I do and I will remain to serve the people of Kenya,'' the seething governor fired.
Governor Sonko has in the recent past claimed that there is a plot hatched by certain elements in the national government to eliminate him because of his refusal to toe certain lines.
He was speaking on Sunday days after taking his office to his Muua home in Machakos where he has been transacting Nairobi County Government business for fear of his life.
A significant part of his security detail was downsized by the government.
