Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has said that he did not refuse to hold talks with Polycarp Igathe who resigned as his deputy.
Sonko accused a section of the media for orchestrating the narrative and said it had been hatched by a section of Jubilee leaders who did not want to see him at the apex of City Hall and working closely with State House.
He said that after Igathe resigned, no leader has approached him with the intention to mediate between them.
"That is mere propaganda. If there were pressing issues he should have gone to the president to express himself."
Igathe resigned as deputy governor of Nairobi earlier January and accused his senior of displaying grave mistrust against him.
The media was then awash with reports of plans to bring them back together through talks, something Sonko has denied.
