On his Facebook page, Sonko noted that the road is not under Nairobi City County but under the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

The county boss further noted that KURA had awarded the tender of constructing the road to a ‘lazy’ and incompetent contractor.

“It is unfortunate that KURA had awarded the tender to a lazy and incompetent contractor who has since deserted the project claiming he could not proceed due to heavy rains,” Said Sonko.

He stated that his administration, however, is currently working in partnership with other agencies including KURA, KENHA, and KERRA under the ministry of infrastructure, KURA, to ensure the road is done.

Sonko also complimented the ministry of infrastructure for assigning the road to a new international contractor who was already at the site and has commenced the reconstruction of the busy road.
