Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has come out guns blazing and accused his 'detractors' of running a malicious campaign to paint him as a goon in office.
This is after a local daily splashed a story on Sonko's alleged antics at the City Hall.
The paper said that Sonko always takes shots of his favourite whiskey during meetings turning such serious sessions into chaotic scenes.
The vocal county boss however claimed the story was a make-up by people out to bring him down.
He has since threatened a legal action against the paper.
“The claim that I drink alcohol in meetings and throughout the day is an outright lie, and it will be upon the Sunday Nation to prove this in court. If I am due to meet an ambassador as reported in the story, and a meeting I have with slum dwellers overruns in terms of time, is that a crisis?” Sonko said in a facebook post.
