A few days ago the media broke the story that Nairobi County had secret bank accounts that were being operated without the knowledge of the county's MCAs.

City Hall has now come out publicly to set the record straight on the issue, with the governor assuring the residents of the county that the accounts were being thoroughly investigated.

''We are looking into the issue. Investigations are ongoing and we will close them if they are found to be unnecessary.'' The flamboyant governor said.

There were concerns that the secret accounts were being used to carry out questionable transactions.

County law require that counties operate accounts with the knowledge of their respective county assemblies.
