The governor said that the chairman of the association, Timothy Muriuki, was a good buddy of his and could not plan such embarrassing assault to happen on him.

“He is a very good friend of mine, he always supports me, na urongo ni mfupi sana, itajulikana. Hii perception kitu inafanywa, immediately the story inaenda kila mahali on social media, then the perception is Sonko is bad, Sonko is a thug, Sonko is a goon. This is something that has been created and fabricated,” said Sonko as quoted by Citizen digital Tv.

The meeting which was destined at the Boulevard Hotel, Nairobi on Monday 30 April was unexpectedly disrupted just after Mr. Murikui had started reading a press statement.

The goons sensationally claimed that the sole purpose of the association was to soil and tarnish the Governor's ame.

Sonko later added that the police should independently probe the whole fracas and those goons who would be found culpable to be apprehended .
