Nairobi Senator Miko Sonko has been summoned by a Mombasa court to explain the whereabouts of MRC leader Omar Mwamnuadzi.
Sonko who had previously submitted his three title deeds to help secure the release of Mwamnuadzi was summoned after the accused failed to appear in court.
Chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti issued a warrant for Mwamnuadzi's arrest after the ODPP proved he had faked illness so as not to attend the hearing.
The MRC leader had presented documents in court showing that he was in hospital admitted with multiple ailments.
However, the prosecution led by Jami Yamina proved before the court that the document presented in court was fake and the admission number belonged to a man identified as Simon MIano.
Mwamnuadzi and 25 others are accused of being members of the outlawed group, incitement and being in possession of firearms.
A Mombasa court granted Mwamnuadzi freedom on a Sh10 million bond after he was detained at Shimo la Tewa Prison for two months.
He was detained after being unable to raise a Sh3 million bond.
The case will be mentioned on August 30.
