Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko may have after all ceded ground to State House after immense battle that saw him appoint controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna as his deputy.
So vicious have been the fights that even Sonko has admitted that his decision to nominate Miguna Miguna was out of protest.
"Your Excellency, do not be scared by Miguna Miguna's nominations. I did that because of intimidations by some of your people.
"I want to assure you we shall deal with the matter soon in the assembly. The MCAs will handle the matter," said Sonko, in an indication that he is no longer interested in the nomination.
In his speech however, Uhuru dismissed claims that he could be scared of Miguna Miguna, who remains exiled in Canada.
"I cannot be cowed by anybody even if its that Miguna. I respect all Kenyans but nobody can scare me," he said.
At an interview with Citizen TV, Miguna Miguna could not acknowledge whether or not he will accept the nomination is endorsed by the assembly.
