Nairobi governor Mike Sonko's team of land officials has decided to get involved in the land ownership controversy in Mlango Kubwa estate, Nairobi.

Speaking through his Facebook page, the governor said that the team chose to get involved in the affairs to help the various sides in the saga come to agreement.

The team includes officials in the City Hall Lands ministry.

In the communique, he urged residents of the area to maintain peace as his government sends officials to resolve the problem.

"My team led by Lands, Urban Planning and Housing CEC Charles Kerich solving Mlango Kubwa land ownership controversy. I urge the residents of Mlango Kubwa to remain calm and peaceful as my administration is undertaking investigations to amicably solve the matter," he said after sharing a video of the officials on the ground.

Governor Sonko's government has been at the centre stage of settling the numerous land sagas that spilled over from previous administrations.
