Speaking at Buruburu Girls during the launch of a laboratory, library and swimming pool, Sonko recalled how he scored so lowly in some subjects as well as cumulatively but still kept going.

“Never lose hope in life. In my days in school I was very naughty and did not do well in my exams. I got a C+ with a clean E in Mathematics but here I am. My courage to face challenges of life has put me where I am today,” said the governor.

He challenged students to stop finding scapegoats when they fail to make an impact in their education as well as their lives.

“You might have scored low grades in your lower classes but don’t let that define who you are. Focus and dedicate some time to God. He will give you the courage,” the governor added.

Sonko has come under pressure in recent times for his failure to deliver adequately to the city residents with some even suggesting he quits or a move to impeach him takes effect.

Students are sure going to love him and will want to follow in his footsteps as well.
