Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has lent a helping hand to the families of the three Gor Mahia fans that were killed in a grisly road accident on Sunday afternoon.
The three were among the traveling fans who were heading to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos to cheer home their team against Thika United.
In an interview, Gor's Secretary general Ben Omondi said Sonko has promised to give the families hearses to transfer the bodies of the deceased and also assist the families financially.
‘”Sonko is also providing three hearse ambulances to transfer the bodies of the deceased fans from Siloam Hospital to Chiromo Mortuary, and to cater for their funeral expenses, but this will be after consultation with their families,” said Omondi.
The club secretary also warned the fans to be cautious while traveling to avoid such mistakes and should instead learn from this ordeal.
