A special team of 10 private divers who joined the recovery mission in Nakuru will be rewarded by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

The 10 were brought from Mombasa to help search bodies of five passengers who were a board a chopper that crashed into Lake Nakuru.

Moses Owala, one of the divers said Sonko asked them to help in the recovery mission.

“We received a call from Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s office to lend our services. We could not refuse him,” Owala said

Owala said Sonko is planning to reward them by absorbing them into Sonko Rescue Team.

“We are humbled by the request by the governor to serve in the Sonko Rescue Team because it has become a national outfit,” Namoya said.
