Sonko has already forwared the name of controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna to be his deputy but he faces a fresh hurdle after a petitioner moved to court to block the appointment on grounds that Miguna is not a Jubilee Party member and that he leads an outlawed organization, National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Speaking during JKL show on Citizen TV, Manduli ironically said that if Miguna’s nomination does not go through, the county boss can appoint his predecessor Evans Kidero to be his deputy.

“He could bring back Kidero. He has not forgotten the work,” she said to the surprise of her host Jeff Koinange.

Manduli, however, insisted that Miguna was the ideal person to take up the role, lauding the governor for picking his competitor in the last election.

“Sonko knew what he was doing. He needs someone who he can work well with,” she remarked.

She further urged residents to give their governor time and support, exuding confidence that the former City Senator was up to the task.

“It is not Sonko’s fault that Nairobi is in a mess. Nairobians seem to always have a problem with whoever is in power,” Manduli added.
