Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has paid a visit to the Mama Lucy Hospital in the city's east.

Sonko appeared at the facility on Saturday morning in an unexpected visit.

He was with Nairobi county executive for health as well as Executive Director for United Nations Childrens Fund Henrietta Fore.

"A Visit to Mama Lucy Hospital with Nairobi County Health Executive Minister and Henrietta Fore, the Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)," he posted on his Facebook.

Mama Lucy is the biggest public health facility in the area but has been dogged by claims of insufficient staff and poor services.
