Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has warned his workers that he will not hesitate to fire anybody who engage in corruption. Sonko on Wednesday warned the 10 members of his county executive committee that he will not stand his name being tainted by there bad acts.
While campaigning for the seat, Sonko said his main agenda is fighting corruption and cartels in the city.
“Fighting corruption is a collective responsibility. On my part, I will spare no one found engaging in corruption,” Sonko said
Sonko was speaking during the official opening of the five-day induction seminar of the executives at the Sun n Sand Beach Resort in Kikambala, Kilifi county when he condemned corruption among his committee members.
Sonko said he will not relent in fighting corruption which he said he started while still the senator of the city to make the lives of Nairobi residents enjoyable.
He urged his committee to express bravery in their duties to make the lives of the city dwellers better.
“I challenge you to take a bold move to put in place policies to countercheck the above mentioned,” Sonko added as quoted by the Star
He named Lands, Finance and Human Resource departments as the departments that have been most affected by the cartels. He asked lands department to work towards ensuring rightful ownership of land and return of grabbed“You must, therefore, work overtime to ensure that all public utilities are protected and grabbed ones repossessed,” Sonko added
