Barely a week after announcing that he supports President Uhuru Kenyatta inthe next General Election and that he will go for a gubernatorial seat, Peter Kenneth has been welcomed by Nairobi Senator Gideon Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko.
Sonko welcomed Kenneth to the Nairobi gubernatorial race, though the latter hasn't specifically stated where he will run for the seat.
Sonko, who is also eyeing the top job in Nairobi, said that he has high hopes that Kenneth will join the Jubilee Party, in a statement sent to newsrooms.
“I wish to welcome the entry of former Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth in the race for the Nairobi Governor’s seat which has attracted a high number of aspirants in Jubilee Party. I hope Kenneth will join our party and support the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in 2017,” Sonko's statement is quoted by edaily.
It remains to be seen what step the former Gatanga MP and Kenya National Congress Party Leader will take next.
