The controversial Nairobi Senator said nothing will make him change his mind in his plan to unseat Governor Evans Kidero.

Speaking Sunday during a live TV interview, Sonko explained that not even President Uhuru Kenyatta or any other Jubilee leader can stop him from going for the post.

"Even if leaders from my Jubilee party that is led by President Kenyatta support me or not, I will go for the top County seat," said Sonko.

"Leaders don't vote. I don't need anyone's endorsement. It is the Nairobi County voters who will decide at the ballot," he added.

There are fears among County residents and political analysts over the suitability of Sonko to take over the leadership reigns of the County, which is also the country's capital city.

Sonko, a maverick Senator despite being highly controversial, is very popular with the masses.
