The Senator said that the current leadership has taken care of the Kamba’s interest following the last general elections.
The lawmaker said that Uhuru and Ruto have initiated several projects in Ukambani despite the fact that the region did not support them during the last general elections.
“Jubilee has ensured that people from Ukambani are part of the government yet we didn’t vote for it in 2013. It has also implemented part of its agenda for our community while those we supported never remembered us when they were in power,” said Sonko, as quoted by Standard.
His remarks were reiterated by Deputy Ruto, who asked the community not to be misled by their leaders. He pointed out that Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has been misguided by former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.
He further said that Raila has not good will for the people of Ukambani since he launched his presidential bid.
“Kalonzo knows well that there is no water at home (Ukambani) and yet he continues to follow someone who does not have the interest of the Kamba community at heart,” he added.
