Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has urged the city residents to observe environmental cleanliness in their daily life.
Speaking on Thursday, the county chief termed a clean environment as one of the only ways to achieve a disease-free society, urging residents to come on board in ensuring that their surroundings are clean.
"Sanitation is one of the only ways to promote good health in our community. We have to prevent human and waste contact to achieve this," he said on his Facebook page Thursday.
"I therefore urge Nairobi residents to embrace cleanliness in their home and work areas," added Sonko.
This comes only days after he announced plans to establish a recycling plant in a bid to eradicate heaps of litter in some parts of the county.
According to the governor, the project to be established at the Dandora dumpsite, will go a long way in helping him achieve his dream for a clean city.
