Governor Mike Sonko has assured city residents that he will strive to serve them all even as he prepares to name his Cabinet.

Sonko is faced with the challenge of rewarding loyalty versus the professionals said to be fronted by top Jubilee Party leaders.

“I was elected by Nairobi voters and will strive to serve all residents. Much as my campaign team expects rewards, I'll ensure that they are persons with requisite skills from different professional fields,” said Sonko as quoted by the Standard.

Last week, the county boss advertised 10 positions of county executive committee member and that of the county secretary who will also double up as the head of public service.

Sources told the daily that State House has already recommended one of its staff by the name Peter Kariuki as a potential Chief of Staff.

Kariuki is currently a legal officer in the Cabinet office.

Top Jubilee leaders will also influence appointments of CEC and chief officers as the party seeks to play a key role in assisting Sonko transform the capital city.

Already, Sonko already declared the positions vacant and placed an advert in national newspapers inviting qualified people to apply by September 27.
