On Thursday this week, Equity Bank is set to unveil the former Vivo Energy CEO as its Chief Commercial Officer, months after he fell out with Governor Mike Sonko.

While it is not clear when his appointment will take effect, Igathe will however be introduced to investors in a meeting slated on Thursday.

In his resignation letter, Igathe lamented that he had failed to earn the trust of his boss, Mike Sonko, and that the developments deterred him from executing his duties.

Since his departure, Sonko has been embroiled in unprecedented political contests and has often accused a 'cartel' within State House of frustrating him.

Last weekend, Sonko openly slammed Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko for allegedly undermining him following a protocol hitch in an event attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Prior to August polls, Sonko had insisted that Igathe would deal with management issues of the county while for him, he would handle the political part.
