Sonko also indicated that Kisii County is slated to get electricity power supply to all primary schools by next year that would see enhancement of education standards in the county more especially in this technological era.

“I have a special message from our able President Uhuru Kenyatta; all primary schools in Kisii County will be powered with electricity by next year, which is a step forward in improving education standards in this area. Jubilee Government has also put mechanisms to see infrastructure and health sectors get a boost to a higher notch,” noted Sonko while addressing the public in Kisii town.

On the other hand, Sonko accused the opposition for sabotaging strides made by government in fulfilling its campaign pledges as encompassed in its manifesto.

“Be careful Kisii people, the opposition are conmen who only want to counter any developmental effort the government makes. Time for politics is over and therefore, the opposition should give government time to deliver its promises to Kenyans,” said Sonko adding that the opposition should ‘hold their horses’ till 2017.

The Senator argued that instead of the opposition indulging in dirty politics, they should help the government in dealing with escalating poverty and drug abuse among some youths.

In his speech, Sonko thanked Kenyans claiming that were it not for their prayers, President Uhuru could not have been acquitted from the ICC case, and asked Kisii residents to continue praying for the acquittal of Deputy President William Ruto and his co-accused journalist Joshua Arap Sang’.

He also encouraged Kenyans in general to remember and share their joy, food and clothing with the less fortunate in society during this festival season.

“As we celebrate this festival season, I call upon each one of you to extend help to the less fortunate and disadvantaged like the disabled, orphans and marginalised. By doing so, we will make them feel accepted,” appealed Sonko.
