City Hall workers in Nairobi have threatened to down their tools over unpaid salaries.

They have issued a strike notice, in what could be a litmus test for Nairobi Governor-elect Mike Sonko.

The Star reports that over 13,000 workers have not received their July salaries.

They on Friday said they will protest outside City Hall from Monday, August 14, if they will not have been paid by today evening.

“We are tired of this administration. Every month we receive our salaries very late,” Kenya County Government Workers Union Nairobi branch secretary Boniface Waweru said.
