A 45-year-old man is said to have died after a fire broke out in a club owned by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Monday night.

Police say the man was an employee at Casurina Club.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

According to reports, the man’s body was burnt beyond recognition.

The fire had already been extinguished before fire fighters arrived at the club.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko sent his condolences to the family of the victim.

“I serve a very faithful God. My God never let me down. RIP. Kilunda,” he posted on Facebook.
