Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has said the county will focus on delivering for the electorates, even with the continued wrangles at the county house.

Speaking for the first time since the fallout with his deputy Polycarp Igathe, Sonko said he is not entirely concerned but will deliver as voted in by the Nairobians.

He, however, admitted that they face challenges as a county, challenges that he is willing to handle with other leaders to ensure service delivery.

“I will address that issue later, but first I have to consult with the electorate, other leaders like the elected members of the assembly, our party, and all other stakeholders. This matter is for all Nairobi residents, it is not a Jubilee matter alone,” he said.

He further rubbished claims that they fell out with Igathe over a disagreement on some tenders.

Igathe shocked the country last week when he resigned from office, giving a two-week notice that will elapse on January 31.

According to reports, the two fell out owing to their difference in nature, with Igathe saying he got a raw deal from his expectations when he decided to be Sonko’s running mate.

The matter caught many in the ruling coalition by surprise, with leaders in the party led by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja pushing to reconcile the two.
