Nairobi senator Mike Sonko is a happy father after his adopted son, Gift Osinya, got admission into one of the top notch national school in the country.

Gift, who scored 399 marks in the 2016 KPCE, was admitted into Lenana School to pursue his secondary education.

Sonko had taken to social media to congratulate the boy after CS Matiang'i released this years KCPE results. He posted:

"Today, I can say I'm a very proud father, Gift Osinya has scored a mean grade of A. Total marks 399 as follows: A in English 77 mrks; A in Kiswahili 85 mrks; A in Mathematics 87 mrks; A in Social studies 77mrks and B in Science 73mrks," Sonko said.

The senator again took to social media to announce his son's admission to high school.

"I wish to take this opportunity on behalf of my lovely wife and on my own behalf to congratulate my adopted son Gift Osinya, the boy who rescued his younger brother Santrin during a terror attack in which their mother was brutally murdered. Gift scored an A Plain in 2016 KCPE and was today officially enrolled at Lenana School in form one," Sonko said.

Gift and his brother Santrin were adopted by the senator after their mother died during a terrorist attack in Mombasa. Satrin was left with a bullet lodged in his head during the attack.
