Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has taken an active role to offer assistance to families of the Lake Nakuru plane crash tragedy.
The governor did this by providing a team of special divers to help retrieve bodies from the lake.
While acknowledging Sonko's active role in the rescue mission, Deputy Director and Communication Officer for the National Disaster Management Unit ( NDMU) Mwachi Pius Masai EMT appreciated the governor's work and asked the affected families to remain calm as operation continues.
"We also appreciate Hon. Mike Mbuvi Sonko, The Governor of Nairobi for Sending his divers to join the operation. We appeal to the affected families and members of the public to remain calm," he said.
"It is an unfortunate incident and a delicate operation whereby the safety of everyone involved in the operation is paramount. You will be updated as needed," he added.
