The county government of Nairobi will ensure all venues that can hold big gatherings are not available, reports the Sunday Nation.
With the venue of Raila Odinga's inauguration as People's President remaining scanty, sources however say it could be held in Mombasa.
"Top NASA leaders are of the opinion that Mombasa plays host. The region is loyal to Raila and it is a bit moderate," argued a top ODM lawyer.
But with President Uhuru Kenyatta also expected to preside over Jamuhuru Day in Kasarani, security apparatus are keen to block Odinga from holding the rally in Nairobi.
And Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is said to have instructed county officials to work with the police to ensure big venues are occupied with other activities.
"Sonko has directed county officials to ensure all big venues are occupied with other activities.Under cover police have also been instructed to monitor the venues," a source told Sunday Nation.
During President Uhuru Kenyatta's inauguration, Sonko was accused by NASA supporters for allegedly instructing police to pour human waste at Jacaranda where the opposition had planned a parallel rally.
NASA secretariat is however set to unveil venue for Tuesday's event on Sunday with at least 11 counties having approved request for such gatherings.
