A section of leaders allied to Jubilee have warned NASA against causing chaos in Nairobi on Tuesday during the swearing-in of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Led by City boss Mike Sonko, the politicians vowed to protect Nairobi traders from rowdy Opposition supporters out to loot and destroy property.

In a press conference on Saturday, Sonko claimed hundreds of businesses have been affected by NASA's violent protests.

"Burma Market, for instance, has traders from all over the country. The traders incurred huge loses following the protests held when Raila landed back from the US," he said.

"I shall not allow more Kenyans to continue to suffer under the guise of protests," Sonko added.

Starehe MP Charles Njagua told the police to deal firmly with individuals out to disrupt a national event.

"We cannot allow few goons to disrupt a ceremony watched by the whole world. NASA should take their rally away from Nairobi," said the musician-cum- politician.

Others present during the press briefing were legislators James Gichuhi (Tetu) and Wangui Ngirici (Kirinyaga Women Representative).

The leaders were reacting to plans by the Opposition to hold memorial prayers at Jacaranda Grounds for its supporters killed allegedly by police during the recent protests.
