One victim of the Garissa University Terror Attack was laid to rest in his village in Njoro, Nakuru County on Monday, in a funeral that was packed with emotions.
Moses Njuguna Mungai was a second year student in Garissa University before his life was rudely terminated by Al-Shabaab militia men in the recent attack.
In a ceremony marred with sorrow and grief, religious leaders asked the Senate and National Assembly to amend the constitution and empower the President more to deal with terrorism.
Talents Revival Church Bishop Kumuri Muya challenged the two houses to move with speed and make changes to the constitution to fight the terrorism menace that has bedevilled the country and all the time taking lives of innocent people.
The same sentiments were reiterated by bishop Ezekiel Waweru who said something should be done in the command order.
“There should also be basic public education on security,” said Waweru.
Other leaders who spoke condemned the massacre and said it is high time the government stopped talking and walk the talk.
They appealed to the government to put in place stringent measures to eradicate terrorism in the country.
