A Jubilee Party parliamentary candidate lost his life, Friday night, following a grisly road accident, along Kisii - Kusumu road.
Leonard Gwaro, who was seeking to unseat incumbent Kitutu Chache South Constituency MP, Richard Onyonka, died after the Toyota Prado he was traveling in, veered off the road at Nyakoe trading centre.
He succumbed to hs injuries, after he was taken to Christa Marianne Hospital. Gwaro was heading for a campaign rally in Kiong'ong'i.
Kisii County Commander Hassan Abdi Hassan, confirmed the incident, saying the accident also saw a boy who was along the road, knocked down to death, while other three passengers on board, seriously inured.
He said the accident happened past 4 pm, and called on motorists to observe traffic regulations, to avoid road carnage.
Gwaro who also vied in the 2013 general elections, had no opponent in the April party primaries, hence securing the ticket.
