The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) secretary general and ODM nominated MP Wilson Sossion has hit out at the former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto after he defected to Jubilee party.Ruto who was the National Super Alliance (Nasa) fifth principal shifted to President Uhuru Kenyatta's camp on Friday during a Jubilee rally in Kericho county saying he felt lonely in Nasa.Ruto further said he will support Uhuru's re-election in the October 17 presidential repeat poll.
Speaking to the Star on Saturday, Sossion said Ruto's move shows he has lost his political legacy.
"The moment he (Rutto) jumped ship and decided to back Jubilee, he lost his political legacy," the daily quotes Sossion. The KNUT boss further said the Chama Cha Mashinani party leader betrayed his community elders after they had bestowed him as the community's spokesperson."Elders blessed him and even bestowed him with a title as the Kipsigis spokesman but now he has betrayed them...too bad for him," noted Sossion."What was the point of forming CCM if he knew he will abandon the cause?" the KNUT boss asked. The nominated legislator stated categorically that he is ODM to stay and no one will influence him to jump ship."I am a firm member of ODM and will not shift to any other party anytime soon," Sossion said.
