Photo/the-star.co.keKenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has been defended following his nomination to parliament by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The fiery Sossion has lately come under intense attacks from quarters who believe he has been using his position for political expediency.
However the Trade Union Congress of Kenya (TUC-K) to which Sossion is a secretary general defended his nomination to the next parliament saying it has lived up to their call to have a workers' representative nominated.
The union's chairman Charles Mukhwaya while addressing a press confrence in Nairobi said it was only ODM who had heeded to the said call by nominating Sossion.
Mr Sossion on his part said the nomination was part of a process the labour centre was working on to expand their input and sit on strategic positions.
Earlier in the week some members of the expansive Knut mostly drawn from its Kiambu branch blasted Sossion saying he was using his position for political gains
