The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) annual delegates’ conference has been thrown into disarray, after delegates disrupted the proceedings.

This is as a result of deep political and leadership differences, which have dogged the giant body in the last few weeks.

According to reports, the delegates, mostly from the Central Region shouted down Secretary General Wilson Sossion, whom they want to quit office.

Sossion, a long-serving general has found himself in murky waters, with the delegates saying he must relinquish his post since he has another job.

The secretary general was nominated to parliament by ODM, which might have triggered members from the central region shutting him down.

They want him to concentrate on his parliamentary duties and stop holding the position at the teachers’ body.

The scene became chaotic with the attendants throwing chairs in the brawl.

The annual meeting is currently ongoing in Mombasa.
